The Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) has commended the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) through Solomon Islands Red Cross Society (SIRC) for donating the COVID-19 cleaning detergents, free of charge to CSSI on Wednesday 13 May 2020 at the SIRC office in Honiara.
Speaking during the handover, SIRC Secretary General Mr Clement Manuri on behalf of SIRC and ICRC do thank the CSSI Commissioner and his Executive for accepting and receiving the much needed donated items and looking forward to continue support CSSI in the prevention measures of COVID-19 throughout our Correctional Centres in the country.
Meanwhile CSSI Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi on behalf of his Executive and CSSI Ranks and Files says, we really value the contribution and support from ICRC through SIRC during this COVID-19 pandemic campaign but through your support and contributions paves a way forward and we really value your contributions to CSSI during this global pandemic.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) donates free of charge the following items to Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI).
- 40 Pcs 500ml Hand Sanitizer
- 27 Pcs 250ml Hand Sanitizer
- 09 Pcs 4.5 L Gallon Chlorine
- 75 Cartons Protex Body Soap
- 42 Cartons Long Bar Washing Soap
- 21 Pcs 4.5 L Gallon Bleach
These donated items are meant to support the beneficiary, at the benefit of the detainee population housed in Correctional Centres and should no means to be sold. The beneficiary is held responsible to ensure the appropriate agreed humanitarian use of the items donated. The ICRC will not be responsible for storage, transport and any damages caused after donation.
Commissioner Manelusi do thank and acknowledge the Solomon Islands Red Cross (SIRC), Secretary General Mr Clement Manuri and his SIRC staffs for the reciprocal partnership and effective collaborations.
