CEMA’s Gozoruru buying center to start operations soon

One of the areas earmarked to be a buying center for the Commodities Export Marketing Authority (CEMA) will become operational sooner than expected.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet stated the CEMA Gozoruru buying center will become operational sooner than expected and will have a coconut mill as well.

It is anticipated that CEMA Gozururu buying center will start buying commodities in November 2021 as opposed to second quarter of 2022 as earlier planned.

In his recent nationwide address, the Prime Minister Hon Manasseh Sogavare stated, “fast tracking of the CEMA Gozururu buying center is largely due to the fact that this particular site has no land issues.”

The Prime Minister further stressed this underscores the important point that no development can happen if the land in question is under dispute.

The Prime Minister further conveyed his gratitude to the Premier and people of Isabel Province for allowing their land for development.

As part of the revitalization and recapitalization strategy of the CEMA, the essence is to reach out to remote farmers and farms, to give some sense of hope and self-actualization to rural farmers and foremost to encourage rural families to get involved in commercial farming.
