Solomon Airlines has announced a new 20% discount airfare available on return economy flights purchased at least 21 days in advance of travel. The special fare levels go on sale from today until 28 February, 2022 and are available on all Solomon Airlines domestic routes.

“Last week we announced that regrettably due to steep and continual rises in the price of aviation fuel, our domestic fares would unavoidably rise across the board by 7% and that is effective from today,” said Colin Sigimanu, Manager Commercial for Solomon Airlines.

“However today we are also announcing that a 20% off special airfare is now available on return journeys purchased 21 days in advance of travel.

“We believe this is a win-win solution as we understand the financial pressure everyone is under as a result of the current pandemic, and through this fare offer we can encourage earlier bookings.

“We can offer passengers who can plan ahead, a considerable discount with the return fares lower than what was immediately available prior to our fare increase.

“At the same time this helps Solomon Airlines with schedule planning and supports cash flow at a time when we are under immense financial pressures due to border closures and escalating fuel costs, “ Mr Sigimanu said.

“While this discount is not available to passengers who book last minute, we would encourage those who are more price sensitive to book early and make the most of the saving opportunity whilst it is available,” he said.

A limited number of advance purchase seats will be available on all Solomon Airlines domestic flights and bookings are only available on a first come first served basis.

Just as with other airlines, there are some restrictions with these special fares. Date changes are possible 21 days or more ahead of ticketed departure for an SBD$100 fee as long as the new travel date is at least 21 days in the future. If the ticketed flights are cancelled prior to departure, the fare is non-refundable but may be used as a credit towards a higher airfare.

The 21 day advance purchase fares are available through all booking channels in the Solomon Islands.
