After several years of traffic jam in the East Honiara  due to road works before the 2023 Pacific Games, city drivers are now experiencing for first time “free flow” of traffic.

Since the end of the Pacific Games, Solomon Water had been working on its Sewer Project on one side of the road—forcing drivers to use just a side of the road — causing queues on both directions of the traffic.

But this week, work has completed and now for the first time in years both sides of the road from Fisheries to the Telekom Roundabout now open for use.

Solomon Water recently stated that the Fisheries to Ranadi Roundabout Sewer Project was reaching its final milestone as the last meters of pipelines had been laid in Stage 4.

The completion of the roadworks now eases traffic disruptions for commuters, businesses, and residents in the area.

Today, there were no queues  on the road as traffic is now flowing again after several years of chaos.
