SATSOL Limited is pleased to announce that it has secured funding from a consortium of banks, led by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to support the rollout of a new mobile network across Solomon Islands.

The investment will enable SATSOL to expand from its established broadband services into mobile telecommunications, bringing greater choice, competition and connectivity to consumers and businesses.

The project will also support greater digital inclusion by expanding access to affordable and reliable connectivity, powered by the latest mobile technologies, including 5G, and built on technology from leading Western vendors, enabling more Solomon Islanders to benefit from digital services, education, financial services and new economic opportunities.

“A stronger competitive mobile market will drive innovation, improve service quality and make connectivity more affordable and accessible. Our ambition is to use connectivity as an enabler of inclusion and opportunity for people across Solomon Islands,” said Pawel Smalinski, CEO of SATSOL.

Network deployment is planned to commence shortly, with commercial mobile services expected to launch in the second half of 2027.

Further details on the network rollout, coverage and services will be announced as the project progresses.
