A total of 78 new cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours – but no reports of deaths.
“In the past 24 hours, 12 pm yesterday to 12pm today we have recorded another 78 new additional cases. 38 in Honiara, 26 in Malaita and 14 in Makira,” said the Minister of Health Dr Culwick Togamana tonight.
However, reports were not available from other provinces when this daily report was finalised. In addition, 23 old cases were reported from Malaita and total COVD case count stands at 5,891. The breakdown of the total case count to date is as follows:
- Honiara: 4,295 (75% of cases)
- Malaita: 703
- Western: 243
- Central Islands: 232
- Guadalcanal: 191
- Choiseul: 124
- Isabel: 63
- Makira: 40
- Temotu:0
- Rennell and Bellona: 0
COVID-19 Death Update
“In terms of death, total deaths related to COVID-19 now stands at 83, no new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours,” said Dr Togamana.
NRH Update
Dr Togamana said 71 out of available 369 beds are occupied by COVID positive people, this accounts for 22% of all beds.
He adds 24 of these 71 COVD positive patients are at the Central Field Hospital and 47 at the NRH.
There are currently 44 cases that are severe and 8 cases that are critical of COVID.
