6 Queens Vying for Miss Solomon Islands Crown

Six beautiful queens today front up to the press in their first public appearance as they confirm their entry to contest for the Miss Solomon Islands crown later this year.

Exquisitely dressed, the six contestants faced the cameras with a brief cameo each introducing themselves to the waiting press and their chaperones.

Those confirmed to contest the Miss Solomon are: Kerrie Faradatolo Miss Tourism, Jayn Zayniellar Vido Soakai Miss Tulagi, Erinma Keni Kausa Miss Guadalcanal Province, Azarinnah Zolela Stevens Miss SICAN, Elsie Salumata Polosovai Miss Lauru and Sharllyma Aruhane Miss Coral Seas Resort.

The queens then each picked the topic on which they will base their speeches on for the ‘speech competition’ which will take place on August 30^th in Honiara.

To add extra spice, the winner of this year’s Miss Solomon Pageant will represent her country on home turf when Honiara hosts next year’s Miss Pacific Pageant.

Director of Miss Solomon Islands Pageant Joyce Konofilia commended the girls for putting their hands up to enter this year’s Miss Solomons. Adding that they are very brave and she thanked their parents and sponsors for their support.

The contestants have also taken questions from the press and they took time to answer both general and specific questions directed at individual queen.

Asked on the chances of winning the regional event for the first time, two of girls who responded to the question were optimistic with one of them stating that it ‘is doable.’
