Solomon Islands Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Hon. Jeremiah Manele welcomed China’s State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Wang Yi on arrival at the Honiara International Airport early this morning.

H.E. Yi is here on a two days historic visit to Solomon Islands where he is scheduled to meet top Government leaders including the Acting Governor General, the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers.

H.E. Yi and Minister Manele are expected to sign a number of cooperation agreements that will enhance the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

H.E. Yi and Minister Manele are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at the end of their official engagements on today before departing on Friday.
