Rausi new chairman of Solomon Water

George Rausi is the new chairman of Solomon Water, confirms Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mines and Energy Bradley Tovosia.

Rausi is the current Chief Finance Officer and Deputy CEO of Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA).

Speaking to SBMOnline yesterday, Tovosia said the appointment was made this week and Rausi has been informed.

Rausi confirmed to SBMOnline that he has received his letter of appointment. He takes over from former chairman Donald Marahare.

Tovosia says Rausi’s appointment comes as members of the Solomon Water Board’s term have expired.

He said all other positions in the board have been advertised.

Tovosia believes that Rausi has the ability to lead the board at this point of its development given the current developments it is now undertaking.
