Honiara, Solomon Islands — Minister of National Planning and Development Coordination Hon. Rexon Ramofafia led the Solomon Islands delegation to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, Seville, Spain

Minister of National Planning and Development Coordination, Hon. Rexon Ramofafia, heads the Solomon Islands delegation attending the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, currently underway in Seville, Spain, from June 29th to July 4th, 2025.

The conference brings together Heads of States, Government Ministers, High-Level representatives from the private sector, development partners, international and regional organizations, financial and trade institutions, and civil society to address urgent financing challenges threatening the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With two-thirds of the 2030 SDG targets currently off track, world leaders, including Solomon Islands, congregated in Seville, Spain, sharing national experiences and development challenges and solutions in attaining the SDGs.

The conference will adopt an outcome document known as the Compromiso de Sevilla. It outlines commitments to address the global financing gap and promote sustainable

Ramofafia is scheduled to deliver national statements in the general debate and multi-stakeholder discussions. In addition, Minister Ramofafia is expected to participate in other high-level meetings and bilateral meetings at the margins of the Fourth International Conference on Financing of Development.
