In a major swing in the current political showdown, the government has sworn in two new ministers shifting back the balance of power to the Manele led GNUT Government.

Derek Manuari is sworn in as the new Minister for Mines, Energy, & Rural Electrification and Ricky Fuo’o is the new minister of infrastructure development.

Manuari, the MP for West Makira has been an Opposition MP whilst Fuo’o of Central Kwara’ae is part of the United Party and the Independence Grouping.

Their switch to the government now gives the Manele Government the numerical strength for the first time since the political upheaval began on Monday when 11 ministers and government backbechers defected to the Opposition.

Meanwhile it has been revealed that the cracks in the Opposition group appeared last night following discussions on the leadership.

The two new ministers add to the MP for North Malaita Daniel Waneoroa who was sworn as the new Minister for Rural development and had also switched from the Opposition camp.
