The government in its 100 days programme launched on Wednesday promised to fast track the tar-sealing of segments of Honiara’s Central Business District and feeder roads in Honiara.

Poor road conditions especially potholes have been a great concern for Honiara residents and there were numerous calls for them to be fixed.

In Parliament this week, the MP for Central Honiara, Gordon Darcy Lilo, reiterated the call and wanted the government to take action on the roads, especially the CBD.

In its 100 days programme under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the government clearly spelt out its intention to fix the roads.

It states that within the 100 days programme, it will ensure that tar-sealing of roads in Honiara highway and feeder roads commerce to ease traffic congestion and improve business activities. Further to that, they also want to fast track tar-sealing of segments of the CBD road.
