Gov’t advertises Commissioner of Police’s position

The Government has advertised the position of the Commissioner of Police—with the current chief Mostyn Mangau’s contract ending at the end of this month.

The Ministry of Police, which is responsible for the COP, is seeking persons within the country and overseas to apply for the position.

The government in the advert states that it is seeking minimum qualification with undergraduate Degree in Policing, Strategic Studies, Politics, related qualification in Law Enforcement or, any other relevant qualifications and or, with of ten (10) years working experience as an executive police officer or, as an executive officer in a public office.

Mangau was given a 12 months extension last year to head the police force.

The cabinet then had approved his re-appointment as the Commissioner of RSIPF after he received his retirement notice on 29 May 2024.
