Naha police are investigating an alleged murder incident that took place at Green Valley in Honiara on 30 June 2025.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo, said that the deceased was allegedly accused of practicing sorcery by the suspect, which was believed to be the motive of this tragic incident.

The incident occurred at around 5am when the deceased was using the restroom located in a separate building from the house, when his daughter and landlord heard him shouting said PPC Robo.

Robo said the landlord and daughter of the deceased went to see what happened, they reportedly saw the suspect kicking the deceased’s abdomen and head. Despite their attempt to intervene, they were unable to stop the attacker.

The victim was rushed to National Referral Hospital (NRH), and was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical authorities.

“The suspect remains at large, and police urges the suspect’s relatives to surrender him to police for further dealings,” said Robo.

“He appeals to both parties to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and let police deal with the matter,” Robo said.
