Fautharo Tribe within the vicinity of Silolo, one of the national potential flagships project sites in North Malaita, has today agreed and allowed their land for development and Silolo Rural Health Centre Project is the first on the development list.
North Malaita Constituency under the leadership of MP Daniel Waneoroa is currently embarking on its plans in identifying potential land areas for development within the constituency.
As a result of that, apart from the much talked about and anticipated Silolo Hydro Project, the constituency office has stepped in to implement its first project prior consultation with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services together with Musukui Rural Health Centre which is currently rolling.
Silolo Rural Health Centre Project would be the first rural health centre if completed in ward nine since the colonial era.
Today, the tribal land committee pledged their support with the constituency office and any other government agency or donor partners that Fautharo land is open for development.
The chairman of Fautharo Tribe Mr. Pateson Fulaburi has thanked the constituency office and the current leadership of Hon. Daniel Waneoroa for identifying Fautharo land as one of its office priority areas for development.
The proposed project, if completed, would have been a milestone achievement for health services in the northern part of the constituency.
If completed, people of ward nine, would now access health services close to their homes rather than having to walk 5km-9km every day to Malu’u Area Health Centre as they do now.
