WV ADVENTURERS CONCLUDE WEEKEND CAMP SUCCESSFULLY
Adventurers from Wind Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church in White River, West Honiara, successfully completed a weekend camp from Friday, August 16th to Sunday, August 18th, 2024.
The camp was held at the Wind Valley SDA church compound and aimed to fulfill the award requirements for each Adventurer class namely Sunbeam, Builder, Helping Hand, Busy Bee, Early Bird, and Little Lamb.
The program officially began on Friday night with the opening of Sabbath devotion for the Adventurers, followed by Sabbath activities focusing on spiritual awards. On Sunday, the children participated in activities to earn their recreational awards.
Adventurer Leader Serah Newter shared that the Adventurers had the opportunity to earn two types of awards: Spiritual Awards and Recreational Awards.
“Our Adventurers learned about their Spiritual Awards and Recreational Awards as part of their classes,” “On Saturday (Sabbath), they focused on Spiritual Awards, where they learned about topics such as Boy Jesus, Acts of Kindness, Temperance, the Rainbow Promise, and Creation’’
‘’On Sunday, the Adventurers worked on their Recreational Awards, which included fitness, healthy eating, hygiene, and manners,’’Ms Newter said.

More than 20 children, along with thirteen teachers, attended the weekend camp. The theme for the camp was “JESUS CARES FOR ME,” supported by the church through Adventurer Department.
Ben Dorai, a 6-year-old from the Sunbeam Class, expressed his excitement about attending the camp.
“I’m really happy to have joined this camp, especially since it was hosted at our church. One of the things I enjoyed most was participating in the activities over the weekend’’
“I will continue attending my classes and look forward to future camps organized by the Adventurer Department,’’6 year old Dorai said.
The next Adventurer camp will be announced once the leaders finalize plans, either by the end of this year or in 2025.
