SOLOMON ISLANDS CELEBRATES SOFT OPENING AT EXPO 2020 PAVILION
Solomon Islands Commissioner General to the Expo 2020 Dubai, His Excellency Moses Kouni Mose welcomed the presence of fellow Commissioner Generals, Pavilion Directors and distinguished guests to the Soft Opening of the Solomon Islands Pavilion on Friday 22nd October at the Opportunity District.
Prior to the formalities, CG Mose took the opportunity to guide the invited guests for a brief tour of the Solo Pavilion before Deputy Commissioner General and Pavilion Director Mr Dennis Marita welcomed the distinguished guests.
H.E Mose reflected on the opportunities that are now being presented to member Pacific Island countries attending the Expo 2020 Dubai and how convenient it would be to access information from one another during the course of the next five months which would be beneficial to our respective development plans.
The Solomon Islands Pavilion is located at the Opportunity District directly opposite the Ukraine Pavilion.
Commissioner Generals and distinguished guests who were present at the ceremony included Tonga’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Honourable A’Kau’ola, Ambassador Naipote Tako Katonitabua of the Fiji Embassy Abu Dhabi, Papua New Guinea’s Ambassador to Brussels and Commissioner for PNG Pavilion, His Excellency Joshua Kalinoe, and Tuvalu’s Ambassador to the UAE His Excellency Aunese Makoi Simati.
Since arriving in Dubai more than two weeks ago, CG Mose has also had his fair share of challenges and experiences especially during the setting up of the Solomon Island Pavilion.
CG Mose also conveyed his deep appreciation to the Government of the Solomon Islands and the Expo 2020 Dubai Management for their facilitation.
Including the Luita and Matameli families and the Solomon Island Community in the UAE for their immense support and patriotism.
CG Mose was also confident that Deputy Commissioner General and Pavilion Director Dennis Marita and the Team will help maintain the tradition of welcoming and embracing our many expected visitors to the Solomon Islands Pavilion over the next 5 months in helping to further ‘Connect our Solomons to an Oasis of Opportunities’.
