Ten schools to compete in table tennis comp to select Team Honiara


The Honiara Table Tennis Association has confirmed the date for the Honiara Schools competition will be staged on 27th Sept to 4th Oct 2021 at the Honiara High Senior school hall, Central Honiara.

HTTA Kevin Olea has confirmed that they had received 10 schools that had confirmed to battle during the 4-day event to mark the term 3 academic break 2021.

This competition is very important and will be the last one for schools this year and this is where the HTTA as association will identify and select athletes for Team Honiara comes for the Solomon Games 2021. The schools are,

  1. Betikama Adventist College
  2. Woodford International School
  3. Vura Community High School
  4. Mbokonavera Community High School
  5. Koloale Community High School
  6. Coronation Christain School
  7. Honiara High Senior School
  8. St Nicholas Anglican College
  9. Naha Community High School
  10. USP University of South Pacific.

Those to be selected in this competition will join others who selected during the recent National Secondary School Games 2021.

The event will feature two team event and single for both boys and girls.

The HTTA acknowledges all school base athletes, teachers and their administrations for their support towards the students in the recent school games and this Honiara school competition 2021.

HATTA acknowledges the technical people who went around schools to schools on voluntary basis to train the athletes and coach them in preparation for the recent school games and the upcoming competition.

Next week, HTTA together with school sport teachers and athletes will conduct friendlies as a way of preparing the school athletes for the competition.

 HTTA looks forward to feature a youthful squad and team for team Honiara Table Tennis as it prepares for for future games, national, regional and international games.

That draw for the games will be done on Friday 24th Sept 2021.

Meanwhile HTTA acknowledges JQY enterprises for the renovation of the home of table tennis here in Solomon Islands.
