2 females amongst 9 arrested for brewing kwaso
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province have raided a kwaso production base and arrested nine suspects, including two females, at the Tenaru area, east of Honiara on Sunday.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga says the raid was part of an ongoing operation conducted by police officers at the Henderson police station assisting the Honiara City
He confirmed that a total of 9 suspects including 2 females were arrested during the raid and were charged and ready to face court.
The kwaso products are recorded as court exhibits.
“I want to appeal to our law-abiding citizens to provide information that will assist the Police get rid of kwaso from our communities. Police cannot do this alone but it needs the support of the people,” says Uiga.
