Ambassador applauds PM for initiating relationship between Churches & Churches in PRC


The People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) Ambassador to Solomon Islands His Excellency Li Ming paid a curtesy visit to Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Damukana Sogavare on Friday 30th July.

During the brief dialogue, His Excellency Li Ming, applauded acknowledged Prime Minister Sogavare as the initiator of the relationship between our Churches and Churches in China. This statement was made in reference to the Prime Minister attending a Church Service during his state visit to China in 2019. Just last week, His Excellency Li Ming devoted a historical ‘Open House Day’ with Church heads enlightening them of China’s freedom, respect and protection of religion, confirmed Ambassador Li Ming.

His Excellency Li Ming agreed, Christianity is the fastest growing religion in China.

Religious believers in China numbers a staggering 200 million followers. The digit includes 45 million Catholics and Protestants.

The Church leaders were further informed during that meeting, believers are contributing positive rippling paraphernalia towards China’s national unity, ethnic solidarity, cultural richness and above all economic progress.


China also practice kindness, respect and all other principles Christians uphold.

Prime Minister Sogavare meanwhile, thanked His Excellency Li Ming for the passage of dialogue with leaders of the Solomon Islands Christian Association, SICA and Solomon Islands Full Gospel Association, SIFGA.

“I am very excited about that. Thank you for meeting with the Churches. We are hitting areas where we need to come out and set the records right. Christianity is the fastest growing religion in China.” said the Prime Minister.

He adds, according to official church statistics, China now has 336,000 Seventh Day Adventist members.
