Security guards attacked and escaped with $44k from nightclub goer, 1 arrested
Police have arrested a security guard at the Silver Lake Night Club and hunting for two others after they attacked a night-club goer and escaped with $44,000 on 10th April.
The security guard was arrested and charged with robbery.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ian Vaevaso said the male victim went with his friends to Silver Lake night club on 9th April and upon their arrival they were checked by the guards. The security guards upon checking discovered that his bag contained $44,000 so they took the basket and placed in it in the bar with a female worker for safe-keeping.
Vaevaso said between 5am and 5.30am on 10th April, the victim on exiting the club went and collected his bag where it was safely kept whilst his friends waited outside.
“Whilst he was going out three security guards approached him, kicked his leg, assaulted him making him to fall. They then grabbed the bag and escaped,” he said.
Vaevaso said the victim then reported the matter at Henderson Police and as a result the first suspect was arrested last Friday and two are still on the run.
